Coach Jess Scott is a native Texan, lifelong performer and multidisciplinary artist who’s spent over two decades studying what makes audiences lean in. Beginning vocal training at a young age, Jess fronted a professional rock band as a teenager before earning a talent scholarship to the University of Memphis.
During collegiate years, Jess served as the Audience Development Manager for the nonprofit theater Voices of the South. Graduating cum laude with a BFA in Theatre Performance.
Jess' training in vocal technique and movement was shaped by mentors directly connected to renowned theater pioneers like Jacques Lecoq and Kristin Linklater.
Later moving to Chicago to pursue comedy for 8 years, Jess studied and performed at The Second City, The iO and The Annoyance Theatre. She signed with Big Mouth Talent Agency, and was able to audition for SNL.

Based in Austin, co-founder and frontwoman of her own band, Subpar Snatch- Jess channels her experience in music, theater, dance, and comedy into the Move Like a Headliner program.
Following a lifelong mobility disability diagnosis, Coach Jess Scott shifted focus from performing, to building a sustainable creative life rooted in mentorship, collaboration, and joy.
